About
Courtney Watts is a textile artist based in Savannah, Georgia. She studies Fibers at The Savannah College of Art and Design, drawing inspiration from the marsh covered landscape to inform her process. Using a method of tufting yarns to draw out topographical landscapes, she creates layers of textured wool to mimic the inspired locations they depict. Courtney’s abstract maps both embody elements of the literal shape of the landscape, and the abstracted colors. The resulting forms of her work make up the personality of a place, while informing the space it inhabits.
